For our meeting this month, Erica Tremblay and Reed Sullivan will show images from their recent 23 day trip to the Khumbu region of Nepal with Victor-based outfitter Mountain Odyssey.  Highlights of the trip included 18,415 foot Kala Patthar with views of Pumori and 17,688 foot Gokyo Ri with views of Mt. Everest.

In the words of Erica, “Once beyond the noisy congested and fascinating city of Kathmandu with its crumbling buildings and wonderful smells, you land in the Khumbu.  There are no ground vehicles.  Period.  Off you go on the trails where the valleys are filled with rushing rivers and you share but a few feet with domesticated yaks and heavily laden donkeys.  And then there are the steps.  The stones are set for giants!”

Come and enjoy Erica and Reed’s account of visiting this beautiful and remote region of the world possessing a landscape in which giants would feel very much at home.
